We value transparency, a first principles approach, and impact. We’re ecstatic to welcome teammates who want to grow with us.

Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytically driven Project Analyst to join our Project Development team. You will play a central role in evaluating, analyzing, and supporting the development of carbon credit projects, with a primary focus on Canada's Clean Fuel Regulation (CFR) and low carbon fuel programs. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the mechanics of compliance carbon markets and wants to apply that knowledge to real project work across a growing portfolio.

What you'll do

CFR & clean fuel program analysis

  • Support Carbon Intensity (CI) modeling and pathway analysis for compliance projects under Canada's Clean Fuel Regulation (CFR) and BC Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), applying the appropriate lifecycle analysis (LCA) frameworks and ECCC-approved methodologies
  • Assess project eligibility and quantify credit generation potential across CFR project types including EV aggregation, Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), hydrogen, and fuel switching initiatives
  • Interpret and apply CFR regulatory requirements, ECCC guidance documents, and approved carbon intensity pathways to specific project contexts — identifying compliance gaps, documentation risks, and credit optimization opportunities
  • Monitor and analyze regulatory developments from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), including updates to the CFR framework, approved fuel pathways, and compliance period requirements
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate project economics, CFR credit issuance forecasts, and return profiles under varying CI outcomes and carbon price scenarios
  • Track and monitor the performance of active CFR projects against projected credit issuance schedules and flag material deviations
Project analysis & due diligence

  • Conduct technical and commercial due diligence on prospective carbon projects, including review of project registration documents (PRDs), CI pathway applications, validation and verification reports, and monitoring plans
  • Analyze baseline scenarios and quantify emissions reductions across additional project types including agriculture, cookstoves, renewable energy, and blue carbon
  • Prepare structured due diligence reports and investment memos summarizing findings and recommendations for internal stakeholders
Methodology & registry

  • Stay current on evolving CFR regulations, ECCC guidance, and updates across compliance and voluntary carbon market standards including Verra, Gold Standard, and ICVCM
  • Interpret and apply methodology requirements to specific project contexts, identifying gaps and risks in project documentation
  • Support registry and compliance platform interactions including CFR credit account management, project listing reviews, and documentation management
Research & market intelligence

  • Monitor CFR policy developments, compliance period updates, and emerging project types to inform the team's pipeline strategy
  • Contribute to internal research outputs including project pipeline reports, CFR market briefings, and sector analyses
  • Support senior team members with ad hoc analysis and research as required

What you bring

  • 2–4 years of experience in carbon markets, clean fuel programs, climate finance, or environmental consulting — with direct exposure to CFR, LCFS, or similar compliance frameworks strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Carbon Intensity modeling, lifecycle analysis (LCA), and fuel pathway quantification under Canada CFR or BC LCFS
  • Familiarity with ECCC's CFR compliance framework, approved pathway methodologies, and credit transfer/reporting requirements
  • Experience reviewing project documentation such as CI pathway applications, PDDs, MRV reports, or validation/verification reports
  • Strong financial modelling and quantitative analysis skills; proficiency in Excel is essential
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical and regulatory information into clear, structured written outputs
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Background in environmental science, chemical engineering, economics, finance, or a related discipline

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with compliance carbon markets such as Canada Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR), California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), BC LCFS etc, and other main carbon markets.
  • Knowledge of corporate net-zero frameworks including SBTi, VCMI, or the Oxford Principles

You'll thrive here if you

  • Are energized by digging into project documentation and finding what others miss
  • Can move comfortably between technical detail and the bigger picture
  • Take ownership of your work and follow through without being managed closely
  • Want to grow in an area that sits at the intersection of climate impact and commercial markets
